ABOUT US
If you are looking for a place
to call your church home what do you look for?
Many people come to church looking for
three things:
-
Can I find God here?
-
Can God help my life?
-
Can I find a friend here?
Those are specific needs we address every
Sunday. We invite you to come as you are and plan to leave different
than you arrived.
Many wonder also, “What do we believe?”
-
We believe that Jesus changes lives.
-
We believe that is precisely what he
came to do.
-
We believe He is still able to do that
today, to do that here, and to do that with you.
-
We believe that people are hungry for
the truth, and that absolute, foolproof truth is found in Jesus
Christ. He has never had to change one thing He said. It was said
perfectly the first time. And it has worked for people of all ages,
in all ages, and it will work for you.
-
We believe that God has never once let
any of His people down and He would not ruin that record with you.
-
We believe life is not an experiment.
You only have one chance to “get it right.” Why would one mess with
low percentages when they could have it stated right the first time,
in the Word of God, who made the world and made mankind and would
know the best way for man to live in the world.
-
We believe that God has so loved us,
(who so often do such unlovable things), that He sent His son to
show us the way to Him, to provide the payment for our sins which we
could not pay, all because He loves us and wants us in His presence.
-
We believe that living in the daily
presence of God provides the source of power to handle anything life
throws at us.
-
We believe that life on earth is not
“all there is” and one day we will stand before God, either glad to
see him as our friend or terrified at His presence.
-
We believe that God has the answer to
every question we ask: how to have an awesome marriage, how to raise
our family with excellence, and how to live life as intended.
-
We believe that following Jesus Christ
is the best choice anyone can make. And we have a church full of
people who have found this to be true.
We invite you to search God carefully, you
will not be disappointed. We invite you to discover not merely a church
to go to, but a God to live with.
We teach right from the Bible, God’s word.
We take our practices from the New Testament and our examples from the
Old Testament. That’s pretty solid footing since it is God’s inspired
word.
About God’s Word, the Bible:
·
The Old Testament is the
history of mankind, from the beginning until the time of Jesus Christ.
It's prophecies and revelations of God’s will for His people are the
background for what was to come.
The New Testament can be broken into four
main categories:
·
The books of Matthew, Mark,
Luke and John, relate the birth, life, teachings, death, and
resurrection of God’s son – Jesus Christ.
·
The book of Acts sets forth
the founding of Christ’s church and God’s plan of salvation. Every
example of anyone becoming a Christian is found in the book of Acts. (the
disciples were first called Christians at Antioch Acts 11:26)
·
The next 21 books are
letters, written to different groups of Christians, to guide them in
their lives as Christians, adding a depth of understanding to being and
remaining a child of God.
·
The final book, Revelation,
is a prophetic look at the future.
The Bible is a living message about the
living Christ who died for our sins and rose from the dead. Jesus is
the heart of the whole Bible’s message. Some passages may be difficult
to understand, but the basic gospel and foundational teachings about
God’s love, and his plan of salvation, are quite clear. One must always
guard against filtering God’s word through one’s own preconceptions and
personal agendas.
