Hello CCA  Reminder from yesterday: “You are the light of the world.” Jesus The world will do everything to put you on the defensive.  ·         You don’t know what you have. Let the lion out! ·         Don’t hide what you have. ·         Stop cringing in a corner hoping no one notices. ·         The prize has always been worth the price. ·         The Gospel has always been offensive, but you don’t have to be. Today, Remember:You are the LIGHT of the world You carry the hope…

Happy Friday! This Sunday is the last day to sign up for the Progressive Dinner which is on October 13th. The progressive dinner is where we go to different people’s homes and eat appetizers at one house and then main course at a different house and dessert all together at the church. There will be 2-3 groups of people at appetizer homes then 3-5 groups of people at main course houses. You will get to fellowship with a different group…

PFD Challenge

Generosity is one of God’s 4 principles for wisely using the resources He entrusts to us. I look forward to sharing those in October and show you how to build your 2020 Resource Plan in a Biblical way. Here are 3 giving requests for the end of the year: Would you consider applying some of your PFD giving toward our goal of hiring an Associate Minister. $20,000 would enable us to bring one or two candidates up for an interview…

Mentorship Program at Bowman Elementary School

Mentoring is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children. Positive relationships with caring adults are critical to a child’s emotional, social, and academic well-being. At Bowman Elementary, the mentorship program involves working with a child or small group while building relationships through academic venues such as reading, writing, or math. Mentors can designate academic, age, or grade levels within their comfort zone and coordinate days and times to meet with the classroom teacher. The classroom teacher…

Secret Sister

Can you keep a secret? All the ladies of the church are invited to participate in the Secret Sister Program. You will each be given a sister that you pray for and encourage. It’s wonderful to have someone pray for you daily and is there to send an encouraging note from time to time. In April we will have a “reveal” party, so keep your Secret Sister a secret till then. Your surveys need to be turned in by NEXT…

Financial Peace University

Hello CCA, Hope you are seeing God’s fingerprints on your day. Look for them I need someone to take over leading Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University seminar. The CCA leader moved out of state. This would supplement the Sunday preaching during October when I share God’s vision for using his unlimited resources. If you have been applying Dave Ramsey’s seven baby steps of financial peace already and want to help others find financial victory, call me and let’s talk. Deryl…

Engage Training

Happy Monday! Yesterday in worship Adam mentioned a way to become involved in the fight for justice is to do the Engage Training that Love Alaska offers. It is the first step to helping out with Priceless (who works with Human Trafficking victims in Anchorage) or Chosen (works with foster kids who have aged out of the system and need an adult mentor). Engage exists to help you develop practical skills to lead, love, and serve marginalized people in a broken world. Give voice to the…

schedule this Saturday and Sunday to expand your impact

Hello Church. The healing of lives and the destiny of lives, lies in the responsibility of Christ’s church. We have the command from our King to heal brokenness. We hold the answer to brokenness in helping people find The Lord of Life. And we possess the power to change lives through the Holy Spirit. Would you continue in your prayer mode of praying for the people of CCA to significantly impact the people of Anchorage to find and follow Jesus.…

Mentoring @ Bowman Elementary School this Fall

Two years ago we were approached about going into Bowman to help mentor kids. Bowman is a school with 3 different schools within it, a neighborhood program, an open optional program, and structured learning program from Pre-K through 6th grade. We have mentored in the school for 2 years, last year we did a big Back to School event at their school where we gave away backpacks with school supplies. This year we are going to do a breakfast for…

today is pray for AK

Hello Church  “Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.” Psalms 5:3 NLT Today we pray for Alaska. We are called “the land of the midnight sun” but our state is shrouded in spiritual darkness. Our enemy desires our destruction and at least our being crippled so we are ineffective and impotent. May God begin a fresh move of the Spirit so people find Christ and learn his blessings for…

Day 3 of prayer and fasting

Hello CCA, It has been good to communicate with God together over specific things to ask him to do. We have also learned more about the heart of God through this time. This is day 3 and we are praying for our city: Tuesday, September 3. This is the day to pray for workplace, your neighborhood. Your city, Anchorage. Listen to the people around you as they talk about their lives. Ask God to show you how to bring the…

Day 6 of Prayer and Fasting

Day 6. Prayer and Fasting. Pick the meals and days you will fast. Use that time to pray. When something or someone comes to your mind, speak a word or two to The Lord right then! Learn to have an immediate contact with God. Maybe think of it as ‘texting’. A short note of what you want to convey. God loves our thoughts during the day. He is always ready to dispense his justice and attention to our requests. Pray…
