FECWS In-Person Volunteer Training

Family Emergency Cold Weather Shelter (FECWS) In-Person Volunteer Training Today, September 17, 5-7 pm at St. John United Methodist Church – 1801 O’Malley Road

Hear what they do and how the program fits in the big picture of making homelessness “rare and brief”

  • Overview of process and partnerships
  • How FECWS has made a difference already
  • How do we best meet families “where they are at?”

FECWS is designed to provide a warm and secure location for sober persons who have no other place to stay overnight. The shelter program is designed exclusively for families with children. The families that stay there work with a case manager through RurAL CAP to help with the “housing pipeline”. Christian Health Associates is looking for churches and volunteers to staff the shelter from 5pm-9am. If you are at all interested go to the meeting tonight or watch it on YouTube. There are other ways to help too like baking a meal for the families that stay the night. Contact Dave Kuiper at dkuiper@christianhealth.org if you
would like to help out.
