Why I am Glad I Found Out about the Resurrection …
A wise man once told me if you believe in Christ dying on the cross and being raised from the dead three days later then everything else in the Bible is true. This was so profound to me it makes so much sense and truly simplified my faith. The resurrection is the most important event in Christianity.
The resurrection proves Jesus’ divinity, this fact makes every word which Jesus spoke truth. Matthew 28:18 “all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth”. Jesus is my final authority his word is law and I answer to him. This means I don’t have to follow the world and the illusion of happiness portrayed for us by humanity. I don’t have to succumb to the rat race of life trying to have more than the next man. I no longer store my treasures on earth, but in heaven where the resurrection guarantees I will spend eternity.
The resurrection compels me to tell others the good news. Matthew 28:19-20 “go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of age”. The resurrection puts a hunger in my soul and the only satisfaction for this hunger is sharing the love and salvation that I now have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus died for all my sins, shortcomings and defects of character so I don’t have to strive to be a perfect man because the only perfect man gave his life for mine and yours.
