Easter Expression #5

Why I am Glad I Found Out about the Resurrection …

I found out about the Resurrection early in life and have never doubted it. As I have grown older I have just become more convinced that it is true. In preparation for Easter, I am reading The Case for Easter by Lee Strobel. Mr. Strobel called the Resurrection the “lynchpin of the Christian faith.” And it is.

Paul says that “if Christ has not been raised our preaching is useless and so is our faith.” (I Corinthians 15:14) but he goes on to say: “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead.” (I Corinthians 15:20). Paul knew it was true because he personally encountered Christ on the road to Damascus.

Paul concludes his thoughts about the resurrection: “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor is not in vain.” (I Corinthians 15:20). Amen.
