Why am I glad I found out about the resurrection?
At first this felt like some sort of trick question. If you asked me to pinpoint when I found out about the resurrection there’s no way I could tell you. It’s just something I’ve known about for as long as I can remember, like Adam & Eve, Noah’s ark, or Father Abraham and his many sons (yes, I’m singing the song now). So knowing about it, even believing it’s true, isn’t always enough.
If you’re lucky, at some point this all develops a more personal meaning to you, and what that is can be different for each one of us, depending upon our own journey. For me, during this time in my life, what it means to me is that no matter how bad things get, no matter how low I am feeling, God can always pull me out of it. The Resurrection is the ultimate proof that Jesus was who He said He was. It is the culmination of all His numerous miracles. If He can conquer death, come back, and walk among His disciples, then with Him by our sides, every single one of us can conquer whatever hardships we might encounter.
