Peace you couldn’t explain if you had to.

Hello CCA,

Here’s just a sample of a time of praise and Thanksgiving prayer that might help be a model for you as you sit before God each day. It uses the 2 principles I have shared with you thus far about the Therapy of Thanksgiving. It includes a blessing from me to you:

Praise for who God is. God I see that you are all mighty, all wonderful, all creative. You are eternal, you are the Lord of the entire universe, you are the owner of everything – including me. You are the one who will bring our history to your perfect conclusion when Jesus returns from heaven. And maybe what I love most about you is – You are Merciful and Approachable.

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!”

Romans 11:33 NASB

Praise for what God has done and what he will do. God, thank you for working in human history from the very beginning. Thank you for having a plan for my life, thank you for providing for my life and protecting my life. Father, I even trust you to work in my future, I trust you for what I need and where I should turn, thank you Father for caring about my life and my family.

“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.”

Psalms 9:1 NLT

God, I want to be your servant. That is my rightful place and that is the place where you desire me to be, so you can bless and use me as a blessing to the world. Help me to follow you perfectly so that I can lead my family to you. Father work in your church the people of your church; that your people will influence the people around them. And bring them to faith and following Jesus.

May this Thanksgiving season be a time when your people rejoice in who you are, take faith in who you are. May they rededicate themselves to following you, loving you, learning about you, serving you, and promoting you in their businesses and in this city.

Father, may you bless them, may you provide everything that brings joy to their life, may they live in Hope in how you will bless them and how you want to use them to make their world around them a better place that follows you. Lord use them to right wrongs, to lift others up and lead others to Christ. Amen.

Here’s what my wife wrote about God’s faithfulness in our family:

God has faithfully supplied my needs, sometimes in miraculous ways. He has blessed beyond what I could imagine. He faithful and good, “thank You Father for all You have done and are doing. Help us to be good and generous servants with what you provide.”

Show your kids how to praise and give thanks to God. This will pay dividends as they grow and eventually have their own vibrant faith.

Enjoying a peace you couldn’t explain if someone asked you. (spoiler alert… that comes from Philippians 4.6,7 using it Sunday)
